Clinical Assessment or Intake

This is an initial assessment that is done with new clients.  It is an in-depth interview that helps the therapist begin to learn details of the client’s life, level of functioning, areas of concern, and prior history related to different aspects of the client’s life.

There are many purposes a clinical assessment serves. Individuals entering treatment can benefit from this initially in order to establish the appropriate level of care you need, helps in formulating an appropriate treatment plan, establishes goals for therapy, and helps bring forth any additional recommendations needed to help with your treatment goals. At times, clients can be referred to higher levels of care temporarily if our services are not deemed appropriate.  Clients will then return and can continue at an outpatient level of care with Oceanside Psychology Clinic.
